- ★ PERSONALITY:
Vincent is a master of manipulation. Most are unaware of his true self, and the motives that fuel his intent to play everyone around him. Fewer still seem to realize that they were used at all, for every move is calculated, and each word dressed with a charming smile.
In fact, he is highly revered in most social circles, particularly amongst the women - the women, of which he takes advantage of for no other reason than his personal pleasure; sharing their beds simply to defile them, as he is so highly resentful of their nature. Such startlingly misogynistic views were more than likely formed as a result of memories regarding his mother, having sold both him and his brother, Gilbert, to a freak show while he was still very young. She'd abandoned them simply because of Vincent's red eye, which had been widely considered a bad omen for all who remained close to the one that bore it.
The woman that he currently courts is someone very dear to Gilbert; Ada, the younger sister of Oz. It is that adoration which lead Vincent to not only intend to use her, in order to achieve his goals, but to additionally ruin her innocence in the process. Unexpected to him, he discovered that she has an affinity for the occult, a subject which he also deeply despises, for it reminds him of another woman that had an immensely negative impact on his life, Miranda Barma. Despite this, he progressively began to find himself drawn to Ada's company in ways that he can't quite comprehend. The majority of his life had been devoted to one objective, largely disinterested in personal attachments beyond the ones that shaped his childhood; it it likely that he couldn't see him loving anyone again, other than his brother.
Overall, his greater motive is to achieve his beloved brother's happiness. Once their mother had sold them off, Gilbert devoted himself to caring for Vincent. For his selflessness, Vincent came to idolize him, as well as blame himself for all the misfortune he'd come upon. He believes that if it weren't for him, and his red eye, Gil would have been able to live an easier life. To see his stark discontent, as well as witness his generally gentle brother turn violent to protect him, moved Vincent to find a way in which he could ease the suffering that he created. Thus, he has devoted himself to seeking out the Abyss, so that he may wish for himself to be erased from existence.
That, however, is not all that led Vincent to be as disturbed as he is at present. As far as he was aware, Miranda Barma manipulated him into being the sole bringer of the Tragedy of Sablier, under the falsehood that it would save his brother from dying whilst undergoing the succession of Glen. Instead, he witnessed hundreds of mutilated corpses at his feet, which he'd convinced himself that he was responsible for killing. The immediate impact of his trauma sent him into an unsettling manic episode, and that behavior seemingly shaped his personality from then on; however, reliving those memories now proves to be too much to cope with, and he often regresses into a state of crippling hysterics.
Furthermore, Miranda claimed that the power to open the gate was a magical one, and that he must promise to not speak of it to anyone, or else the magic would become a terrible curse that would render anyone incapable of saving Gil. He's been internally shielding all he's known away since, obsessively making certain that the truth of what happened at the Tragedy of Sablier never surfaces. Though his sources are most times unrevealed, he seems to be aware of what's happening about him at all times. Clever use of this information, and an unnaturally keen talent for evaluating a person's intentions allow him to manipulate most around him, like chess pieces across a board.
After the tragedy, he'd developed an inclination to mutilating and dismembering stuffed animals with his scissors, constantly. Sometimes drapes, bedding - and people, too. He is fond of torture, and even considers it to be an excellent source of relief. Clearly sadistic in nature, he is likely so as a result of being exposed to death and gore so very young, particularly because he thought it to be by his own hands. (Though, it should be noted that after Alice taunted him about his eye and led Gil to become violent again, and saddened Jack, he acquired an immense hatred for Alice that led him to mutilate her dolls and gouge out the eyes of her cat, Cheshire -- before the Tragedy occurred. So it is likely that these characteristics were already present, but simply amplified by the stress of that major event.) He also has a wicked jealousy involving those that he holds most dear, considered anyone who should upset them, or threaten harm upon them, his personal enemy. A further lack of empathy, outside of those that he is infatuated with, is attributed to his claim that he sees anyone else as nothing more than dolls, of which is clear that he has no qualms against using and destroying.
This all leads back to the post traumatic stress obtained from the Tragedy. Suffering the immense guilt of leading Gilbert through a horrendous childhood, and being led to believe that he might be responsible for Gilbert's death if he were to allow anyone to know of how the Tragedy came to be, it was all internalized, forcing Vincent to separate himself from everyone around him, to fight a lonely battle. It controlled his life, and skewed his perception of reality even further.
Aside from Gilbert, he adored Jack for saving them from impending death on the streets, showing him kindness, and finally providing Gil with a home that would keep him from harm. He'd said that he loved Vincent's red eye, finally making him feel accepted, and safe. Surprisingly, he also revered Elliot for his strong character, honor, bravery - and for being the only one to accept Gilbert as an adopted sibling into the Nightray household, keeping him smiling in that dreary atmosphere. He saw the boy as being everything that he is not, thus openly aware of his own flaws. Even so, he justified his actions by keeping his goals in mind, no matter how obscene, such as poisoning Gilbert, or declaring servitude to Leo for the promise that the young duke would eliminate him from history.
Since learning of Jack's deceit, and witnessing Gilbert's happiness flourish after ridding himself of the seal that bound his left arm, Vincent's faith and the confidence once held in his goal seem to have been shaken. Unable to join Gil in his happiness, he'd decided to move forward with his intentions, regardless. For this reason, he was pursuing them simply to complete that which he has dedicated most of his years to, rather than for his brother's benefit. Though he'd promised himself that he'd never allow Gilbert to push him away, he seemed to be the one pushing then, even though it clearly left him with a heavy heart.
Vincent went on to accompany Glen Baskerville to the gate leading to the Abyss, intent on seeing his wish seen through as dying by the hand of the maddened duke. It wasn't until Xerxes Break saved his life, that he realized the nature of his mistakes. Break interrupted the swing of Glen's blade, and boisterously scolded him for remaining so fixated to the past that he was unable to find a future for himself. In the process, Leo held back Glen's consciousness long enough to keep him from slaughtering either of them, while ordering Vincent not to die. Those words said to Vincent burned into his memory, and once Glen fled into the Abyss, he decided that it was his duty to pursue him, so that he might see Leo's wishes through - not Glen's. With his newfound desire to live, and his attachment to the young master through their mutual understanding, he's decided that his promised servitude is his new purpose in moving forward.

- ★ ABILITIES:
- DORMOUSE - Vincent is contracted to the Dormouse, a powerful creature known as a Chain, born from the otherworldly Abyss. To form a legal contract with a chain is a difficult and extensive process that first begins with gaining its acceptance, and once that is achieved, reciting an oath and soaking their 'blood seal mirror' in the chain's blood. In contrast to an illegal contractor, who accepts the chain's seal onto their body, a legal contractor's blood seal mirror contains the mark of the chain and allows its designated owner to harness the power of the seal without physical exertion or the otherwise inevitable fate of being cast into the Abyss after a period of time. It further enables the wearer to use the chain's power to its limit, though marginally decreasing the power's capabilities.
- Induced Slumber - Using the power of Dormouse, Vincent is capable of putting his opponents to sleep against their will.
- DEMIOS - Unlike his other chain, Vincent is contracted to Demios through an illegal contract; yet, because he is a Baskerville, he will not suffer the negative effect that a typical person would. (Degeneration from exertion, a timed seal.) He is the only known character to posses contracts to multiple chains, aside from Glen Baskerville.
- Decapitation - By summoning Demios, Vincent is able to command her to behead his opponents.
- Marksmanship - Vincent has been shown to be a prodigy at marksmanship using gunfire, ever since his first attempt as a child.
- Manipulation - A master at chess, he is likewise quite skilled with using those around him to meet his needs, through whatever means are necessary. He typically uses his charm to establish his resources, so that when pleasantries no longer get him what he desires, he may resort to far dirtier means.
- Torture - He has also been shown to be a skilled and experienced torturer.
- ★ ELEMENT / SENSE:
Fire / Touch
- ★ INVENTORY:
His Pandora uniform, the blood seal mirror contracting him to Dormouse, one pair of small ornamental scissors, and one gun with full chamber.
